Ray Ray & Dodu is a personal creative project created by Sam Ip in Hong Kong, inspired by his two boys, Seth and Shane. It began as a simple family diary and has grown into a collection of games, stories, activities and learning experiences designed for parents and children to enjoy together.

By using this website, you agree to the following terms.

1. For families to enjoy

Ray Ray & Dodu is intended primarily for personal, non-commercial use by children and their parents, carers and families. Unless otherwise stated, our games and activities are free to play.

You are welcome to play, learn, explore and share links to Ray Ray & Dodu with other families. Please do not copy, reproduce, redistribute, repackage or sell our content without permission.

2. Intellectual property

Ray Ray & Dodu and the original materials made for this project — including, where applicable, its characters, character designs, visual identity, illustrations, artwork, stories, animations, games, learning activities, written content, graphics, audio, music, sound design and other creative materials — are owned or controlled by Ray Ray & Dodu and/or its creator, Sam Ip, except where otherwise stated.

These materials may be protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws where applicable. Making our games available to play for free does not place our content in the public domain and does not grant permission for others to reproduce or commercially exploit it.

Unless we give prior written permission, you may not:

reproduce or redistribute substantial parts of our games or content;
copy or commercially exploit Ray Ray & Dodu characters or artwork;
sell, license or repackage our learning materials;
publish our content as your own;
remove copyright, attribution or ownership notices;
extract or reuse our audio, artwork, animations or other assets to create another product or service; or
use our content in a way that falsely suggests an association with or endorsement by Ray Ray & Dodu.

Normal personal and family use of the website is, of course, absolutely fine.

3. AI-assisted creation

Artificial intelligence is one of the creative tools used in making Ray Ray & Dodu.

Some characters, illustrations, audio, animations, written materials and other elements may be developed with the assistance of generative AI or other AI-enabled tools, alongside human creative direction, prompting, selection, editing, design, programming and production.

We believe AI can be a wonderful creative tool when used thoughtfully. It allows a small personal project like this one to turn everyday ideas between a dad and his children into things they can actually play with.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to claim rights beyond those available under applicable law.

4. Voice and audio

Some English narration and other audio used in Ray Ray & Dodu is produced using AI-assisted audio technology.

Where stated or applicable, the underlying voice samples are provided by the creator, Sam Ip, and are used to create audio specifically for the Ray Ray & Dodu project.

Permission to listen to this audio through the website does not constitute permission to use the underlying voice or recordings for other purposes.

Without prior written permission, you may not intentionally extract, isolate, copy, clone, imitate, reproduce or create synthetic versions of the creator’s voice from Ray Ray & Dodu audio. You may also not use our voice recordings or audio as source material for voice cloning, voice conversion, machine-learning training, AI model development or the creation of synthetic media without prior written permission.

5. AI training and automated extraction

Unless permitted by applicable law or agreed by us in writing, Ray Ray & Dodu content should not be systematically scraped, harvested or extracted for the purpose of building datasets, training or fine-tuning artificial intelligence models, creating character or voice models, or substantially reproducing our creative work.

This includes our original artwork, character assets, audio, written materials, game assets and other original content.

6. Educational purpose

Ray Ray & Dodu is created to encourage children and grown-ups to play, learn, talk and explore together.

It is not a formal curriculum, tutoring service or substitute for professional educational, developmental, medical or other specialist advice. Every child learns differently. Parents and carers should use their own judgement when deciding which activities are appropriate for their child.

7. Parents and grown-ups

Ray Ray & Dodu is designed with young children in mind, but we encourage children to explore the website together with a parent, carer or other responsible grown-up.

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their child’s use of the website and deciding whether particular content or activities are suitable for them.

8. Availability and changes

Ray Ray & Dodu is a personal project made in our spare time. There is no fixed publishing schedule, and we may add, change, improve or remove games, activities or other parts of the website from time to time.

We cannot promise that every game or feature will always remain available or work on every device or browser.

9. Third-party services

Some parts of the website may rely on third-party technology, hosting, fonts, storage, media or other services. Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Where third-party materials are used, ownership remains with their respective rights holders.

10. Links to other websites

Ray Ray & Dodu may occasionally link to other websites or services, including our social media pages. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites.

11. Disclaimer and liability

We do our best to make Ray Ray & Dodu safe, enjoyable and useful, but the website and its content are provided on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every child, device or learning need.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Changes to these Terms

As Ray Ray & Dodu grows, these Terms may occasionally change. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under the laws applicable where you live.
