1. Children do not need an account to play
Children do not need to create an account, provide their name, upload a photograph, give us an email address or create a personal profile simply to play Ray Ray & Dodu games.
We do not intentionally ask children to submit personal information through our games. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and introduce appropriate safeguards before doing so.
2. What the website actually processes
To keep this policy accurate, this section describes the services and storage currently used by the website.
- Website hosting: the site is hosted by Vercel. As with most hosting services, technical request information such as IP address, browser or device type, requested page, date and time may be processed for delivery, reliability and security.
- Anonymous star ratings: if a visitor chooses to rate a game, the browser creates a random visitor ID and stores it on that device together with the selected rating. The game name, star rating and random ID are sent to our first-party ratings endpoint. The endpoint converts the ID into an HMAC hash before the rating is stored in Supabase. We do not store the original random ID in the database.
- Local game progress: Little Explorer Academy stores game progress in the browser’s local storage so a family can continue on the same device. This progress stays on that device unless the family uses a game feature that explicitly exports or imports a backup.
- Offline game files: Little Explorer Academy uses a service worker and browser Cache Storage to keep same-site game assets available and improve loading. These cached files are not an advertising profile.
- Fonts: the main Ray Ray & Dodu pages currently load typefaces from Google Fonts. A font request may share limited technical request information, such as an IP address and browser details, with Google.
No advertising or behavioural analytics: at the date shown above, we do not use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or another behavioural advertising or visitor-profiling tool.
3. Ratings
Star ratings help us understand whether families enjoyed a game. No account, name, email address or written comment is required.
A rating is linked only to a one-way hashed version of a random device identifier so one browser can update its rating for a game. The ratings database contains the game identifier, hashed visitor identifier, rating and database timestamps.
The raw random identifier and the family’s own selected rating remain in local storage on the device. Families can remove this local information by clearing site data in their browser.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Ray Ray & Dodu currently uses browser local storage and Cache Storage for the functional purposes described above. We do not currently use these technologies for behavioural advertising.
If we introduce non-essential cookies or similar technologies that require consent under applicable law, we will provide an appropriate choice before using them.
5. Children’s privacy
Ray Ray & Dodu is designed for children to enjoy with their grown-ups. We do not intentionally collect personal information directly from children through our games.
If you are a parent or carer and believe that a child has accidentally provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
6. Advertising
Ray Ray & Dodu is intended as a family learning project rather than an advertising platform. We do not use children’s personal information for behavioural advertising.
If our approach changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such changes are introduced.
7. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell children’s personal information.
Limited information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary to operate, secure or maintain the website. Our current providers include Vercel for website hosting, Supabase for anonymous rating storage and Google Fonts for website typefaces.
We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the security and integrity of the website.
8. External links
Our website contains links to third-party services, including Instagram. We do not send a visitor to Instagram unless they choose to follow one of those links.
Once you leave Ray Ray & Dodu, the privacy practices of that third party apply. Parents and carers should supervise young children’s use of external websites and services.
9. Data retention
Anonymous ratings are kept for as long as reasonably useful for understanding and improving the games, unless they need to be removed sooner. Hosting providers may keep technical logs according to their own retention and security practices.
Information stored locally on a device remains there until the browser or family removes it, the site data is cleared, or the relevant game replaces it.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the website and information processed through it. The Supabase service key and rating-signing secret remain on the server and are not provided to the browser. Raw rating rows are not exposed directly to website visitors.
However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information held about you, including rights to request access or correction. Where applicable, we will respond to valid requests in accordance with relevant privacy laws.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
As Ray Ray & Dodu grows, the technology and services we use may change. When this happens, we will update this Privacy Policy where necessary and change the date shown at the top of the page.
We will review this policy before introducing features such as accounts, email collection, sponsorship, paid games, advertising or additional analytics.
